Super Talent introduces world’s first USB 3.0 flash drive
Nov.05, 2009 in News
Usb is already a fact and it will become increasingly popular among the hardware manufacturers worldwide. After the announcement of the new Asus’s motherboards with integrated USB 3.0 controllers a few weeks ago, yesterday Super Talent introduced the World’s First USB 3.0 flash drive. It delivers transfer speeds up to 200MB/s using USB 3.0 ports, but the company says it can reach up to 320MB/s transfer speeds using a separate UAS Protocol driver.“The USB 3.0 RAIDDrive uses patented multiple pairs of differential serial data lines technology for optimal NAND flash performance. This product underscores Super Talent’s continued leadership in USB drives. We have developed the world’s first mobile USB 3.0 flash drive. It delivers phenomenal performance and it incorporates our own patented technology,” said C.H. Lee, chief operating officer of Super Talent.
The portable flash drives will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities and are fully backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports. Of course in this case they will operate at traditional speed of up to 480 megabits (60MB) per second.
Super Talent’s USB 3.0 flash drives can be expected in December from Super Talent resellers worldwide but there’s still no word on pricing.
